A Married Couple Gets Hyper About Their Abusive And Excessive Drinking And Wonders If They Manifest Any Alcohol Addiction Signs

Lenny and Angie have been married for four years. They wanted to have some fun and excitement before they made up their minds to have a family and so they with forethought created an incredibly vigorous social life.

The major difficulty, it needs to be pointed out, is that almost everything they do for excitement includes drinking. As an illustration, all of the family get-togethers, parties with friends, dinner engagements, happy hours, and sporting events they frequent somehow include drinking.

If they were moderate or responsible drinkers this wouldn't be such a difficult situation. Since they drink quite irresponsibly, nevertheless, they are starting to become aware of some unmistakable alcohol-related issues in their lives.

As an illustration, Lenny recently was placed in custody for his first DUI and has been shirking responsibilities at work due to alcohol-related health issues. In addition, Lenny's last two performance evaluations at his place of employment have been less than average and he has begun to forget what he does or says when he drinks. Finally, Lenny has been having sleep-related problems and his family is starting to get nervous about his drinking problems.

Similarly, Angie has been feeling unhappy about life and to cope with these feelings, she has been drinking more than any time in the past nine months. Not only this, but Angie has been experiencing quite a few painful headaches and suffering from agonizing hangovers after drinking. Finally, Angie has been feeling notably less energetic when she gets up in the morning, she has been getting to work late at least two days per week, and she has been receiving some inconsiderate criticism from her friends, family members, coworkers, and relatives about her hazardous and careless drinking.

One Tuesday evening while watching TV, Angie and Lenny stumbled upon an attention-grabbing documentary about alcohol facts and alcoholism facts in general and about the signs of alcoholism in particular. This television documentary was a real eye opener to Angie and Lenny because many of the alcohol facts that were discussed looked like they were directly related to numerous drinking problems Angie and Lenny had been experiencing.

With thoughts of the television program still fresh in her mind, Angie asked Lenny if some of the alcohol addiction signs they have been exhibiting could be a signal that they are alcohol dependent or conceivably becoming alcoholic. Lenny didn't know the answer to Angie's question and so he recommended that they make an appointment with one of the healthcare professionals at the nearby alcohol rehabilitation center to find out more about the severity of their drinking situation.

Ironically, although their drinking behavior hadn't yet changed, it was clear that Lenny and Angie were at least concentrating on their drinking problems, they were ready to find out more about their drinking circumstances, and they were concerned about how they could notably decrease or eliminate the drinking-related problems that had begun to emerge.

When Lenny and Angie went to bed that night, they decided that the next day, Lenny would call and make an appointment for both of them at the alcohol abuse rehabilitation center located just West of the State Capital. After they promised one another that they would do whatever it takes to conquer the drinking problems that had become apparent in their lives, they actually had the most refreshing night's sleep they could recollect in the last three weeks.
