In spite of Richard's deplorable employment track record and financial negligence, nevertheless, somehow he made it a point to drink in an abusive and excessive manner on a day-to-day basis.

So it came as no big surprise when Richard got a fourth DWI. When he went before the court, the judge told Richard that his alcohol-related conduct was appalling and, consequently, he was going to sentence Richard to serve seven months in the county jail.

During his time in the city jail, Richard was expected to learn more about alcohol abuse facts such as alcohol consequences and alcohol deaths, about the demoralizing outcomes of excessive drinking, and he was required to get alcohol rehab. The magistrate underlined the fact that unless Richard gets professional alcohol therapy and learns how to live an alcohol-free life, he will quite possibly be spending a considerable amount of time imprisoned.

After hearing how Richard was unsuccessful in taking ownership of his drinking situation and how he unenthusiastically followed the rehab code of behavior while in the city jail, the magistrate knew that it was essentially a matter of time before he would be seeing Richard once again in court about his excessive and irresponsible drinking behavior.

As the judge thought about Richard's situation, he couldn't help but think about how some individuals never "get it" and discover how to live in a mature and accountable manner.
